Alternative Rock
Bio
Tame the Giant is a rock band from Utica, New York, blending rock, punk urgency, and laid-back jam band spirit
into something entirely their own. Call it "Hippie Punk" if you need a name for it, but their songs have a habit
of slipping past labels. Built on undeniable hooks, unexpected turns, and lyrics that reward a second listen, Tame
the Giant strikes the rare balance of sounding instantly familiar while constantly catching you off guard.
Their debut full-length album, "Second Hand Sound," was recorded with Jeff Aderman at Big Blue North Recording Studio in Utica, New York,
and earned the 2026 SAMMY Award for Best Alternative Album.
Catchy enough to stay with you and curious enough to keep you coming back, Tame the Giant is always chasing signals just beyond the static.

Press Quotes
"Their 2024 EP Cereal for Dinner is a punchy, hook-driven release that demonstrates exactly why they are a band worth watching in the Central New York scene." — roundpit.com
"The first thing that struck me upon listening to “Second Hand Sound,” the new album from Tame The Giant, is just how high-energy it is. Don’t get me wrong; it’s not frenetic thrash metal. But it is much closer to the rock end of the spectrum than I had expected." — Mark Sisti, Rome Sentinel
